The Gladmat Festival

“Gladmat” means «Happy Food» in Norwegian. Gladmat is Norway’s leading food festival, with 250.000 visitors during the four days the festival takes place. In the middle of the city centre of Stavanger, you will find a traditional, Norwegian farmer’s market alongside street food and international cuisine. At each vendor’s stall, you will find a special Gladmat-dish, making it possible to eat your way through the varieties of food in the festival arena. On the stage in the old market square, there are cooking shows, demos and concerts every day. Gladmat 2017 will be the 19th festival.

The Gladmat Festival displays niche-products and new trends in food and dining, and the festival has something for everyone, old and young. During the festival, both children and adults can choose between various cooking classes and events, both in the festival arena and in the restaurants surrounding it.
